My Passion for Counseling
My name is Mark, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified EMDR therapist, an ordained minister, and the co-founder of North Woods Christian Counseling. Over the last 15 years I’ve had the privilege of providing over 15,000 therapy sessions, training over 1,000 therapists, and helping over 1,000 clients. I specialize in providing high-achieving men trauma therapy, addiction counseling, couples counseling, and executive coaching. Former clients have included business leaders, physicians, therapists, elite athletes, and other hard-working men needing a breakthrough. I frequently use EMDR therapy to help men identify the memories, insecurities, and emotional barriers that hold them back, and then heal them at their source, permanently. My role as the owner of North Woods is purely administrative (Clinical Director and CEO), so I now only see clients at my solo practice, Lion Counseling (scroll to the bottom of the page to learn how to schedule with me there)
I only work with adults.
Types of Counseling I Provide (in-person or online)
I provide Individual, Marriage, and Family Counseling (Individual counseling is primarily devoted to EMDR therapy, and focused primarily on working with business owners and men’s issues).
Interests
I am married with four kids, and we love to spend time as a family hiking, swimming, playing sports, and watching movies. My hobbies include creating art, writing, playing guitar, boxing, and practicing jiu jitsu. I also love being in nature, and enjoy hiking, hunting, and surfing on Lake Superior.
